Tennessee Wesleyan swept the Appalachian Athletic Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week awards with Hilary Cheruiyot winning the men's and Sarah Birgen claiming the women's, the league announced Monday.

Cheruiyot placed second overall out of the a field of 65 runners in the men's Oglethorpe Invitational 8K race, finishing with a time of 29:18. Cheruiyot hails from Nandi Hills, Kenya.

Birgen won the women's field at the Oglethorpe Invitational 5K. The Nandi Hills, Kenya, native posted a time of 19:14 to place first out of 59 runners.
