Athens, TN. - Tennessee Wesleyan coach Billy Berry released the 2012 schedule this week, which includes 30 home games and contest against eight teams that reached the NAIA Championship Opening Round.
The Bulldogs begin the season January 28, the earliest opening day for TWC since 2009. Tennessee Wesleyan will take on Southern Polytechnic State University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Auburn Montgomery University in Montgomery, Alabama. The next week TWC will travel to Rome, Georgia to take on University of Pikeville at a neutral site and the squad opens the home slate against Shorter University on February 8.
TWC plays West Virginia Institute of Technology, Indiana Institute of Technology and Indiana Southeast University over the next three weekends. Two tough midweek home contest vs. Lee University and Cumberland University close out the month of February.
The Bulldogs begin Appalachian Athletic Conference action on March 3, when they host Virginia Intermont College. TWC then heads to South Carolina to take on the University of South Carolina Beaufort over spring break. The month of March is packed with pivotal AAC contests which include Union College at home and on the road vs. Milligan College and Bluefield College. Heading into the last month of the season with a midweek road contest at Cumberland University.
The Bulldogs play home games against Bryan College, Young Harris College and Reinhardt College during the month of April. The month also includes AAC action at newcomer Point University and Montreat College, with two tough midweek road contests vs. Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Appalachian Conference Tournament is set for May 1-5 at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tennessee.
