Tennessee Wesleyan traveled to Virginia Intermont on Wednesday for an AAC match-up between the Bulldogs and the Cobras. Tennessee Wesleyan entered the competition at 3-1 while VI was 1-3 in the AAC. The Bulldogs won a shoot-out in the first half, 44-40, before tightening up on defense, holding the Cobras to 27 second-half points en route to an 88-67 victory.
Wesleyan out-scored VI, 44-27, in the second half to post the 21-point victory. The Bulldogs forced 22 turnovers but suffered 17 of their own. Tennessee Wesleyan was able to outrebound the Cobras 47-36. The Bulldogs shot 47% in field goals while they were 62% from the charity stripe.
Desmond Crisp led the Bulldogs with 23 points. E'Jay Ward tossed in 19 points, Quincy Scates 16 and Shannon Smith 14.
