Bluefield College (8-4) traveled to Tennessee Wesleyan (10-2) on Thursday. The Bulldogs maintain the one game lead in the AAC over Reinhardt University. Tennessee Wesleyan easily found the net scoring 53 points in the first half, and then reaching the 100 point mark for the 4th time this season. The Bulldogs defeated the Rams 100-61.
The teams traded points through the first five minutes with TWC leading, 18-17. Matt Harper drained a 3-pointer and the Bulldogs began to pull away. E'Jay Ward and Josh Gregory had buckets to open a 25-17 gap. With Desmond Crisp and Quincy Scates scoring four points each, TWC widened the gap to 10, 37-27. Crisp would add eight more points as the Bulldogs closed the half on a 16-10 run to lead, 53-37.
Harper opened the second half with a 3-pointer and the Bulldogs never looked back.
Scates collected 28 points with six rebounds; Crisp 26 points and Harper 13 points. Gregory added six points, nine rebounds and Ward seven points with five assists.
The Bulldogs get the weekend off and come back on Wednesday to host Virginia Intermont starting at 7:30 pm.
