In the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Lee University for the second time this season for a double header on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs were defeated by the Lady Flames in both games with a score of 2-11 and 0-7.
In Game one, TWC jumped on top with 2 runs in the third inning, but Lee answered back with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. Lee continued to add to the score each over the next three innings to put the game away in the 6th by an 11-2 score. The Lady Bulldogs had two runs on 5 hits and 5 errors.
The losing pitcher for Tennessee Wesleyan was Sara Kilgore who gave up 9 runs, 5 of which were earned on 13 hits. Rachele Moretto was two for 3 with a run scored. Brooke Ward was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
In the second game, TWC loaded the bases with 1 out in the top of the first but Lee was able to field a hot shot to 3rd by Lasley and turn a 5-2-3 double play to get out of trouble. The game stayed scoreless until the bottom of the 5th and an error with 2 outs kept the inning alive and Lee took advantage with some clutch 2 out hits to put 4 on the board. Another untimely error in the 6th allowed Lee to put up 3 more and put the game out of reach for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs had 7 hits and 3 errors. Brittany Kilduff pitched the second game giving up 7 runs but only 2 of which were earned. Hannah Smith was 2 for 3 at the plate, while Rachele Moretto was one for two.
Tennessee Wesleyan next plays Mar.2 and 3rd at Union College tournament in Barbourville, KY.
