The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Tiffin, Ohio to play against Tiffin University and Aquinas. Tennessee Wesleyan was defeated by Tiffin but took a conference win over Aquinas. The Lady Bulldogs are now 4-3 overall and 4-0 in the NWLL.
The Lady Bulldogs took an early lead over Tiffin scoring 4 in the first 10 minutes while only allowing one. However, the dragons came back to rip off five consecutive goals to take a 6-4 lead with 9:09 to play in the first half. The Lady Bulldogs bounced back to score three goals and take a 7-6 lead into the locker room at half.
The Lady Bulldogs came out to score the first goal of the second half, but Tiffin answered with 5 straight goals to take an 11-8 lead. Tennessee Wesleyan answered with one, then Tiffin scored one, then the Lady Bulldogs put in two more but was unable to score the knotting goal before time ran out.
With four goals, Lindsey Knapp led the Lady Bulldogs. Tess Sasse put in 2 for Tennessee Wesleyan while Michelle Scannell, Renee Bolling, Cassie Romeo, Marina Tharin, and Kimberly Leuthold each had one. Nicolette Dungee played in the goal the entire sixty minutes and had 6 saves for the Lady Bulldogs.
Tennessee Wesleyan took a 6-3 lead at half over Aquinas, who was 1-0 in the conference going into this game. Although Aquinas outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 4-3, in the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan won 9-7.
Renee Bolling, Tess Sasse, and Kimberly Leuthold each scored 2 goals for the Lady Bulldogs. Also putting one in was Michelle Scannell, Marina Tharin, and Lindsey Knapp. Nicolette Dungee had 12 saves in the goal.
The Lady Bulldogs play at home today against Millsaps College at 4:00 pm. They then host Missouri Baptist on Friday at noon.
