The Lady Bulldogs showed why they among the top in the conference when they outshot Missouri Baptist 40 to 18 and taking the win 16-5. The Lady Bulldogs are now 5-0 in the conference and tied for first with Shorter University.
Tennessee Wesleyan took an early 3-0 lead just 5 minutes into the game. Missouri Baptist scored at the 21 minute mark but the Lady Bulldogs quickly answered with another. The Spartans put in one more before the Lady Bulldogs scored 4 in a row. There were five more goals in the last 8 minutes of the half with the Lady Bulldogs having 2 of those and taking a 10-5 lead at half.
The Lady Bulldogs showed control is managing the clock and the ball to score all six of the 2nd half goals and hold the Spartans at 5 for the game.
Michelle Scannell had 4 goals for the Lady Bulldogs and Marina Tharin put in 3 of her own. Rachel Matlock, Cassie Romeo, and Kimberly Leuthold each had 2 goals. Tess Sasse had one goal and three assists for Tennessee Wesleyan. Renee Bolling and Lindsey Knapp each had a turn to put one on the board for the Lady Bulldogs. Emily Clevenger had 3 assists.
The Lady Bulldogs get the weekend off and have time to rest before hosting Anne Arundel Community College next Thursday March 22nd at 3:00 pm and Indiana Tech on Saturday, March 24th at 12:00 pm.
