The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Virginia Intermont on Friday for an AAC double header. Tennessee Wesleyan came away with a win the first game but was defeated in the second game. The Lady Bulldogs fall to 5-3 in the AAC Conference, leaving them fourth in the conference.
VI jumped on top in the first inning with a one out RBI to take a 1-0 lead. VI added a run in the bottom of the 4th to go up 2-0. TWC finally broke thru in the top of the 5th with a 2 out RBI by Courtney Gobble. In the top of the 6th with 2 outs TWC strung together three straight hits by Smith, Arndts and Ward to take a 3-2 lead into the 7th. TWC added 3 more insurance runs in the 7th and Walker retired VI in order in the bottom to clinch the 6-2 win.

Game 2 saw a pitcher's duel as neither team was able to get their offense going. TWC let a great 3 hit pitching performance go for nothing as VI was able to take advantage of a leadoff error in the 6th and get some timely hitting to score twice and hold on for the 2-0 win. TWC tried to bounce back in the 7th bringing the go ahead run to the plate but could not get a big 2 out hit.
Brittany Kilduff took the loss giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits striking out 3. Lindsey Arndts was 2 for 2. Rachele Moretto and Ashley Bryson had the only other hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
Tennessee Wesleyan will next play at home on Monday April 2 vs. Montreat College at 2:00 pm.
