The Lady Bulldogs traveled to play against newcomer to the AAC, Point University. Tennessee Wesleyan split with now 5-9 Point, winning the first game 11-0 and then losing the second game in the final inning 3-1. The Lady Bulldogs are now 8-4 in the conference and tied for 3rd with Virginia Intermont. Milligan sits on top of them at 10-2 and then Reinhardt on top at 7-1.
TWC jumped on top in the first inning scoring 6 runs on 5 hits. Wesleyan added another single run in the second and four more in the 5th to close it out 11-0. Kelly Walker threw a complete game shut out giving up 5 hits and striking out 1. Ashley Bryson went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Stacie Nelson went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
In game two, TWC jumped on top in the first by a leadoff triple by Ward and an RBI single by Moretto, to go up 1-0. Although TWC threatened with runners in scoring position they never could get the big two out hit. Although Kilduff did not allow a hit until the 6th inning, Point was able to take advantage of a walk, HP and an error to tie the game in the 4th. In the bottom of the 7th tied 1-1 Kilduff made her only mistake of the game after walking a batter then giving up a walk off home run to end the game 3-1.
Brittany Kilduff took the loss allowing only 2 hits and striking out 8. Brooke Ward went 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.
The Lady Bulldogs play their next game on April 6 at home versus Milligan College starting at 1:00 pm.
