Tennessee Wesleyan captured the Appalachian Athletic Conference men's golf regular-season championship after posting the best overall combined score from the fall and spring events, the league announced.

Tennessee Wesleyan finished the fall meet in second with a 597, two strokes back of Milligan (Tenn.). The Bulldogs also placed second at the spring meet on Tuesday with a 589, but their combined score of 1,186 was good enough to take the championship.

Milligan is second overall at 1,196, while Union (Ky.) - which won the spring meet, is third at 1,199. Reinhardt (Ga.) placed fourth (1,202), Virginia Intermont fifth (1,228), Bryan (Tenn.) sixth (1,245) and Montreat (N.C.) seventh (1,253).

The AAC Tournament is set for April 16-17 in Winchester, Tenn. The winning team will automatically qualify for the NAIA National Championship Tournament.

In addition to crowning the regular-season champion, the All-AAC Team was announced.

 

Making the All-AAC First Team are Michael Alread of Tennessee Wesleyan; Zach Lindsey and Austin Ujhelyi of Reinhardt; Whit Brown of Milligan; and Josh Dyer of Union.

The All-AAC Second Team includes Daniel Foster of Milligan; Thomas Scott, Garrett Bradley and Tim Cooper of Union; Justin Brown of Virginia Intermont; Wes Farris of Tennessee Wesleyan; and Ian Long of Bryan.

The Player of the Year and Coach of the Year will be announced at the AAC Tournament.
