The Bulldogs traveled down the road to face number 3 Lee University on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs fell short in the end being defeated 6-9.

Levi Dean started for TWC and allowed two first-inning runs, both unearned with a dropped outfield fly setting up the scores. Dean surrendered a third run in the second on two singles, a walk and sacrifice fly.

After leaving three runners stranded in the first two innings, Wesleyan broke through for four runs in the third, all coming after two were out. Jake Stone started the rally with a hot smash back to the mound that struck Lee pitcher David Eskew, who had just come into the game in relief, in the face. The game was delayed for 30 minutes while Eskew was treated and taken from the field in an ambulance. Stephen Branca then walked and Taylor Oldham delivered a run-scoring single. Jordan Guida's double plated two more runs. Dale Ricketts walked and TWC took a 4-3 lead on Drew Levi's single before the final out was recorded. A solo home run by Roberto Duran in the bottom of the inning knotted the score at four. Lee reclaimed the lead in the fourth. Following a one-out walk, Zach Fleshman relieved Dean. Fleshman walked one before giving up a three-run homer to Lee's Corey Davis.

Fleshman settled down after that, retiring eight of the next nine Flames he faced. Wesleyan got a run back to trail 7-5 on Stone's home run in the seventh. With one out and one on in the seventh, Al Yevoli replaced Fleshman and struck out the next two batters. Yevoli recorded a third strikeout and walked one before Corey Collins came on in relief in the 8th. Collins gave up a triple and sacrifice fly as Lee pushed ahead, 9-5.

In the TWC ninth, Anthony Boix led off with a single and was chased home by Branca's one-out double. Oldham's hit put runners at second and third. Guida walked to load the bases, but the game ended with the next two batters striking out.

Stone had three of Wesleyan's 11 hits, driving in a run and scoring two. Boix had two hits, a run scored; Oldham two hits, RBI and run scored; Guida one hit, two RBIs, run scored; Branca a hit, RBI, run scored and Levi a hit and RBI.

Dean went 3 1/3 innings to take the loss, allowing five runs on five hits with four strikeouts and four walks. Fleshman gave up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and a walk over three innings. Yevoli surrendered one run, struck out three and walked one in one inning of work and Collins a run on one hit.

The Bulldogs face AAC foe Bryan College this weekend. They play a double header beginning at 1:00 pm on Friday at home, then travel to Chattanooga on Saturday to play the single nine inning game at Chattanooga Lookouts Stadium at 4:00 pm.
