The Lady Bulldogs hosted Robert Morris-Springfield for their last regular season game. During halftime of the game, the seniors were honored. Among those recognized were Rachel Gruzinski, Tess Sasse, Jordan Hendrix, Ashley Cook, Marina Tharin, Cassie Romeo, and Emily Clevenger. Tennessee Wesleyan celebrated senior day with a win, 19-9, over Robert Morris. The win gave them a regular season conference record of 8-2 and finishing in 3rd place.
The Lady Bulldogs took the first goal just 8 minutes in but Robert Morris came back to knot the game 30 seconds later. At the 20 minute mark, Rebecca Dow but in another for TWC to take back the lead, 2-1, and then Tess Sasse increased the lead just 45 seconds later. The Eagles of Robert Morris didn't back off scoring 3 in a row to take a 3-4 lead over the Lady Bulldogs. Tennessee Wesleyan went on a 4-1 run the last 15 minutes of the half to go into intermission ahead 7-5.
The Lady Bulldogs came out in the second half and scored the first six goals to take a 13-5 lead. The Eagles scored the next two goals to try and come back but the Lady Bulldogs answered with a goal and then finished the game outscoring Robert Morris, 5-2. The Lady Bulldogs got their largest lead with the final goal and managed the clock for the final minute to win 19-9.
Scoring 3 goals each for the Lady Bulldogs was Renee Bolling, Tess Sasse, Kelsey Crow, and Michelle Scannell. Rebecca Dow and Emily Clevenger each had two goals while Cassie Romeo, Marina Tharin, and Nicolette Dungee put in one for the Lady Bulldogs.
Nicolette Dungee spent 40 minutes in the goal and had 5 saves. Monica Kay came in for the final 20 minutes and had 2 saves.
The Lady Bulldogs begin tournament play on April 19th at 9:00 am against Reinhardt University. The tournament is being held at Shorter University and will continue through Saturday with the championship game being played at 4:30 pm.
