The Bulldogs played a 3 game series this weekend with Bryan College and improved their conference record to 17-1. TWC now has a 5 game lead over number 2 in the conference Union College. Bryan College drops to 11-7 and holds a 3rd place spot. The Bulldogs won over the Lions, 4-1, 9-1, and 4-2.

In the first game, Junior southpaw Josh Cullers set the tone allowing just one run on one hit with 12 strikeouts, walked two and hit one batter. Travis Burnside's leadoff single in the first led to a run that put TWC on top, 1-0. Bryan evened the score in the fourth on a single, stolen base, passed ball and ground out. Wesleyan took a 3-1 lead in the fifth when Anthony Boix doubled and Taylor Oldham hit a two-out, two-run homer. TWC added an insurance run in the sixth on Brackton Smith's single, a double by Thomas Sicking and Burnside's sacrifice fly.

Smith had two hits of Wesleyan's eight hits with a run scored. Oldham had a hit, two RBIs, run scored and Burnside a hit, RBI and run scored.

The Bulldogs didn't waste any time taking control on the scoreboard in the second game to back the shutout pitching of Jeremy Fitzgerald. Wesleyan scored twice in the first inning with singles from Burnside and Stone, along with a walk and groundout to get the runs home. TWC added three runs in the third. Drew Levi led off with a solo home run. Sicking walked, Burnside singled and Boix delivered an RBI single. The third run was balked home.

The Bulldogs put the game away in the fourth when Boix walked and Stone homered. Stephen Branca walked, Oldham singled and Dale Ricketts' single plated a run. Sicking walked to load the bases and Burnside was hit by a pitch, forcing Oldham home and Wesleyan led, 9-0.

Ben Crocker relieved Fitzgerald to start the seventh and surrendered a run on a walk and double, but also struck out three to end the game. Fitzgerald allowed just one hit, struck out six and did not walk a batter.

Stone had two of Wesleyan's 11 hits, driving in three runs and scoring two. Burnside had two hits, an RBI and run scored; Sicking two hits, run scored; Boix one hit, RBI, run scored; Oldham one hit, RBI, run scored; Ricketts one hit, RBI and Levi one hit, RBI and run scored.

The Bulldogs traveled to Chattanooga on Saturday to play in the final game of the series at AT&T Field. Wesleyan took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Boix doubled and scored on Stone's single. A leadoff double led to a run as the Lions tied the score with a run in the fourth. The Bulldogs came right back to take a 2-1 lead when Jordan Guida was hit by a pitch, Ricketts singled and Levi plated the run with a sacrifice fly. A Bryan error, Branca's double and wild pitch put TWC on top, 3-1, in the fifth.

A triple and double in the sixth allowed Bryan to close within 3-2, but Wesleyan starter Corey Rhoney then teamed with Boix to pick the runner off a second and squash the rally. The Lions had only one baserunner, a two-out single in the ninth, over the final three innings. Wesleyan added a run in the bottom of the sixth when Ricketts doubled and Burnside singled him home.

Rhoney went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits, struck out 10, walked one and hit one. Corey Collins pitched a 1-2-3 8th with a strikeout and Al Yevoli allowed one hit among the four batters he faced in the ninth.

Ricketts had two of the Bulldogs' seven hits. Burnside had one hit, RBI; Boix one hit, two runs scored; and Stone one hit, RBI.

The Bulldogs travel back to Cleveland to face Lee University once again on Tuesday night at 6:00 pm. TWC then goes to Montreat College for a 3 game series on Saturday and Sunday.
