Tennessee Wesleyan College is offering a cheerleading camp for local youngsters from Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 13, from 8 a.m. to noon each day.
Led by the men and women of the Bulldogs' 2012-13 cheerleading squad, the camp is open to children ranging in ages from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. The cost is $50 per child or $80 for two children. Registration must be complete by Monday, July 2. "The squad wanted to offer a service to the community. By mentoring young cheerleaders, we can help give them the confidence and skills needed to continue cheering throughout their educational careers," said TWC head cheerleading coach Jessica Edwards.
On Friday, July 13, camp participants will have an opportunity to showcase what they have learned throughout the week. The showcase will be open to parents, with the campers and TWC cheerleaders performing. Each camper will receive a T-shirt to wear during the show. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the camp days.
