ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Tennessee Wesleyan's Luke Winter and Sam Clare have been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference's Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectviely, the league announced Monday.

Both Winter and Clare helped the Bulldogs go 2-0 on the week, as they bested Point (Ga.) on the road, 10-1, and Montreat (N.C.) 4-1 to improve their record on the year to 4-2-2 overall, and a perfect 3-0 in the AAC.

Winter, a senior for Norwich, England, scored five goals on the week for a 10 point total. Winter scored twice in the Point victory, then capped that off with a hat trick, three-goal performance against Montreat. For the year, Winter has scored six goals for a 12 point total.

Clare, a sophmore defender from Mansfield, England, helped the Bulldog defense allow just two goals on the week. For the year, he has started in eight matches on the defensive end for TWC.
