The Lady Bulldogs traveled down the road to play at Tennessee Temple for their 3rd game of the season. Over the weekend they played in a tournament in Indianapolis and came away 0-2. TWC hoped for different results Tuesday night against the Crusaders.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a commanding 15-3 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game with Heather Gibson, Cody Houck and Michelle Davis doing most of the damage for the Lady Bulldogs. Temple got on track offensively after that, but TWC kept up the pressure with Davis and Houck adding to their point totals. Christine Lumbasio, Sarah McKinnon and Bailey Lyness also contributed. TWC led 30-18 at the half.
The second half started off similar to the first, with Davis and Houk propelling Wesleyan to a solid lead as TWC built a 49-34 advantage with 10:26 to play. TWC had as much as a 17-point lead before the Lady Crusaders cut into that advantage late in the game, but it was too late as TWC won by 12 points, 63-51.
Houk and Davis led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points and nine rebounds each, while Gibson finished with nine points and Lumbasio finished with eight. Gibson also added six assists.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Tennessee Tech on Saturday for a 7:00 pm game and then play at Truett-McConnell on November 12th at 5:30 pm. The Lady Bulldogs have their home opener on November 20th against Lee University at 6:00 pm.
