Women Golfers Win First Tournament of the Spring

The Tennessee Wesleyan women's golf team captured their first tournament of the spring season winning the Piedmont College Spring Invitational.
The tournament was played at The Creek at Harbor Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, GA. The Lady Bulldogs shot a team total of 346 on Day 1 and had a seven shot lead over eventual runner-up Spartanburg Methodist College. Tennessee Wesleyan improved to a 336 on Day 2 for a combined total of 682 which was 23 shots clear of the field.
Wesleyan's Megan Cox was the tournament medalist firing a 77-75= 152 which was good enough for a new tournament record. She was joined on the All-Tournament team by freshman Natalie Foster who shot an 86-84= 170 which placed her fourth. The remaining members of the team were Samantha Cheatham with a 92-82= 174, Britany Rader 91-95= 186 and Mickey Harrison with a 106-101= 207. The Lady Bulldogs will next be in action March 16 & 17 at the Montreat College Invitational to be held at the Glen Canon Golf Club in Brevard, NC.
