The Bulldogs took the lead for good just over 5 minutes into the game at 15-14 with a driving lay up by Josh Williams. Matt Harper's three-point play, a trey from E'Jay Ward and back-to-back 3-pointers from Shannon Smith padded the lead to eight, 33-25. Another three by Matt Harper in addition to points by Desmond Crisp, Tyler Burse, and Shannon Smith gap grew to 13 at the intermission, 42-29.
The Bulldogs gained their largest lead of 26 with just over eleven minutes left in the game. Bulldogs finished the game defeating the Lions 85-63.
Shannon Smith paced the TWC offense with 18 points. Zamarius McLendon netted 12 points; Tyler Burse 11 points, eight rebounds; Matt Harper 10 points; Derek Triplett 20 points and E'Jay Ward eight points with 11 assists.
The Bulldogs hold on to the first place spot in the AAC with a record of 8-1.
Tennessee Wesleyan travels to Union on Saturday with tip off at 6:00 pm.
