The Bulldogs played host to Point University on Tuesday and came away with another conference win.
Point took an early 7-0 lead before Desmond Crisp put in the first bucket for the Bulldogs. Eight minutes into the first half the Bulldogs trailed by 10, but with Desmond Crisp and Zamarius McClendon scoring inside; Tyler Burse nailing a 3-pointer; Crisp making one of two free throws and Matt Harper putting a missed shot back in, TWC evened the score at 21. The score was once again tied at 23 with 9:34 left in the half before the Bulldogs took the lead for good. The Bulldogs were up by ten, 50-40 at half.
Nine minutes into the second half, the Bulldogs took their largest lead of the game at 16. Point responded with a 17-4 run, slicing the margin to three, 72-69 with 5:39 left. Shannon Smith had a bucket and his steal led to a Desmond Crisp layup. Point was then hit with a technical foul and Smith made both free throws, pushing the lead back to nine and the Bulldogs held on from there.
Desmond Crisp paced the offense with 20 points, while Tyler Burse netted 19 points and collected 10 rebounds. E'Jay Ward had five assists and eight steals with the Wesleyan defense forcing 28 Point turnovers.
The Bulldogs play at Point on Thursday at 7:30 pm.
