The Lady Bulldogs took on the Lady Hawks of Shorter University for their first of 4 consecutive home games. The Lady Hawks came out firing putting the first 5 goals on the score board in the first 14 minutes of the game. Cheyenne Bray was able to put the only TWC goal on the board in the first half off of a pass from Rachel Matlock. Shorter finished out the first half by scoring three more.
Matlock was able to strike first in the second half by putting one past the Shorter goalie in the first 4 minutes of the second half. Shorter answered back with three more goals putting the score up to 11-2. With the biggest deficit of the game, Chelsea Walsh and Cheyenne Bray were able to put the next two in to narrow the lead to 11-4. With 11 minutes remaining in the game, a Shorter attacker snuck a goal by goalkeeper, Nicolette Dungee. Chelsea Walsh responded with a goal off of a free position shot with 7:27 remaining in the game. Kelsey Crow followed with a pair of goals back to back before Shorter answered with their final goal of the game to put the score to 13-7.
In the final two minutes of the game, Rachel Matlock was able to bounce her second goal of the game past the Lady Hawks goalie, while Kelsey Crow scored her third of the game off of a Kelly Letten pass to make the final score 13-9.
Nicolette Dungee made a career day in the pipes for the Lady Bulldogs with 21 saves on 34 shots. She also caused three Lady Hawks turnovers. Anna Headen and Cheyenne Bray led TWC with 7 of the 9 draw controls for the team, while Sharon Acoff had game high 3 ground balls.
