Fransico Gallardo of Tennessee Wesleyan and Beatriz Signori of Tennessee Wesleyan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the second week for the awards, and the second week Tennessee Wesleyan swept them. However, this is the first weekly awards this season for both Gallardo and Signori.

Gallardo, a freshman from Santigo, Chile, helped the Bulldogs to a 6-3 win over NCAA Division II Carson-Newman (Tenn.) this past week. Playing No. 3 singles, he won his match 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. In doubles action, he and his partner won 8-4.

On the year, Gallardo is 7-3 in singles play and 8-2 in doubles.

Tennessee Wesleyan is 5-4 on the season.

Signori, a junior from Sao Carlos, Brazil, won both her singles and doubles matches in the 5-4 loss to Carson-Newman. In singles, she posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory while recording an 8-5 decision in doubles.

For the season, Signori is 9-1 in both doubles and singles play.

Tennessee Wesleyan is 6-4 on the year.
