Justina Jones of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Track Player of the Week, league announced Monday.
This is the third week of the awards this season, and this is the first honor for Jones.
Jones, a freshman from Nashville, Tenn., posted three top-five finishes at the Centre (Ky.) College Invitational, including two third-place finishes. She placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.79, while helping the Lady Bulldog 4x100 relay team to a third-place showing with a time of 50.9. In the 4x400 relay, Jones helped Tennessee Wesleyan come in fifth with a time of 4:32.63.
The next women's track & field athletes awards will be announced on April 15.
