Johnson City, Tenn. (April 18, 2013) --- Tennessee Wesleyan College claimed the women's title during the 2013 Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Kermit Tipton Stadium in Johnson City, Tenn. The Lady Bulldogs edged out second place Milligan, who had won the previous two championships. 52-43. Bryan finished third with 15 points, while Union and Montreat finished fourth and fifth.
Beth Sexton finished first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.30. Kaycee Harris finished 2nd, while Katie Phillips and LeighAnn McAfee finished fourth and fifth. In the 400 meter dash, Katie Phillips finished third and Nellie Watson finished fourth. Robbiccaa Williams finished third in the 800 meter dash, while Jesse Hodnett finished fourth and Brooklyn Girdley was eighth. Robbicca Williams won the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:58.00. Tori Blackmon won the 100 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. The Lady Bulldogs (Kaycee Harris, Katie Phillips, Beth Sexton, and Justina Jones) won the 4 x 100 meter relay. TWC (Robbiccaa Williams, Katie Phillips, Tori Blackmon, and Jesse Hodnett) also won the 4x 400 meter relay.
In the long jump, the Lady Bulldogs placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. LeighAnn McAfee finished first in the shot put.
