Men's Track - Wed, May. 29, 2013

Men's track has expanded the roster  for the 2013-2014 season with five more signings.

Samuel Hawkins- from Sweetwater, will be running cross country and distance for indoor/outdoor track.  "We are excited to add Samuel to our roster, he not only excels on the track but is a great student as well."  says Coach Jakubowski.  His PR's include: 5k- 17:16, 3200- 10:04, 1600- 4:40.

Knox Central's Mario Debro and Docqavius Banks both inked with the Bulldogs recently.  "As a first year track program, we needed to add depth to our sprints and jumps.  Signing these two were key to that goal." says Coach Jakubowski.  "Mario will be more of a short sprinter and will be used on our relay teams.  Docqavius is talented in multiple sprints as well as field events."

Codarius McClendon- from Red Bank High will be another key to adding depth

on the sprint team.  Along with running for Red Bank he has also competed for the Chattanooga Jets Track Club.  His PR's are: 100- 11.07, Long Jump- 21-7.25  According to Coach Thomas, "He comes from a good running program and should perform well at conference."  Coach Jakubowski noted, "Adding a sprinter like Codarius is exactly where we wanted to take this program.  He not only has a good PR in the 100 but can perform well on the field."

Deshawn McCleary- from Bradley Central will add more depth to the sprint team by bringing a few talents to the track. "Having one hurdler and zero triple jumpers this year, signing Deshawn was huge.  I think that he will work well with our current hurdler and help push each other in practice on a daily basis." said Coach Jakubowski.  His PR's are: 110 hurdles- 16.08, 300 hurdles- 44.66, triple jump- 42-10.

Roderick Bowman from Daniel Boone High signed recently with the Bulldogs.  "We are extremely excited to add Roderick to our distance program.", said Coach Jakubowski.  "We look for him to be in our top five immediately." His PR's are: 5k- 15:42, 3200- 9:39.  Roderick was all-conference and all-region for two years, while also being all-state for one year.
