MONTGOMERY, AL. – Tennessee Wesleyan traveled to Faulkner University for their season opener. The game went scoreless through regulation and went into overtime. The Lady Bulldogs scored the winning goal in the the 98th minute to clinch the victory.
Tennessee Wesleyan was outshot 13 to seven by the home team and nine of those were on frame compared to the Lady Bulldogs three.
The game was more of the same in overtime until the clock dipped below two minutes. The Lady Bulldogs found themselves with a prime scoring opportunity deep in Faulkner territory. Samaria Kahn controlled a high ball and touched it back to Kimberly Key, who shot with her left foot and tucked a shot behind a leaping Faulkner goalkeeper to bring the game to a close.
Jaimee Moreland picked up the win with nine saves on the day.
The Lady Bulldogs play at home on Wednesday against Cumberland University at 1:00 pm.
