The Lady Bulldogs hosted Marian University in their season opener on Saturday. Tennessee Wesleyan scored the first seven points of the game and never trailed winning 57-39 over the Knights.
Booker scored inside, followed by two free throws and a 3-point basket from Courtney Gobble, to give the Lady Bulldogs a 7-0 lead over the Lady Knights. With Alli Moreland hitting a "3" and Booker accounting for the final 11 points of the half, TWC widened its lead to 12, 27-15.
Booker's basket made it 32-18 early in the second half before Marian reeled off eight unanswered points to climb within six, 32-26. Houck's pivotal trey followed and the Lady Bulldogs pulled away from there.
Booker, a 6'1 transfer from Mar Hill College, netted 23 points, collected 14 rebounds and had three blocked shots. Houck was the only other Lady Bulldog in double figures with12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Moreland added nine points.
The Lady Bulldogs will go to NAIA Division I Brenau University in Gainseville, Ga., on Tuesday, tipping off at 6 p.m. and play in Cookeville at NCAA member Tennessee Tech University on Saturday, starting at 8 p.m.
