The Lady Bulldogs hosted Montreat College on Wednesday night for their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener.  Tennessee Wesleyan took an early lead and never looked back winning 72-50 over the Lady Cavaliers.

Armeka Booker had four early points, but went to the bench with two fouls.  Cody Houck then had 10 points, including two 3-point baskets, and Ally Moreland converted a three-point play in a 13-4 run to put TWC on top, 19-10.   Courtney Gobble had five points and Houck seven as the margin grew to 22 points, 38-16, before Montreat pulled within 15, 38-23, at the half.

The Lady Cavaliers would get no closer in the 2nd half of the game.  Armeka Booker returned to score six points; Houck added seven; Moreland a three-point play; Bailey Lyness four points and Sara McKinnon two to propel the Lady Bulldogs comfortably in front, 59-33, with 10 minutes to play. Cody Houck finished with game highs in points and rebounds with 23 and 14, respectively. Booker netted 16 points; Gobble 12 and Moreland eight, to go along with nine rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Bulldogs will play at Lee University on Saturday at 5:00 pm in an exhibition game before returning home on Monday to play against Tennessee Temple at 5:30 pm.
