The Bulldogs stopped in Georgia to get a win at Reinhardt University on their way to Florida to play in the Embry-Riddle Tournament this weekend.
TWC started the game by hitting five straight three-pointers and connected on 15 of 22 treys in the game. Andrew Scofield and Tyler Burse drained a pair of 3-pointers and Shannon Smith added a "3" to give Wesleyan an early, 15-10, lead. The clubs exchanged points from there with TWC leading at the half, 42-38.
Reinhardt drew even at 49 with 13:19 to play. The Bulldogs slipped in front again and were up, 70-67, at the 5:50 mark. Just over two minutes later, the margin was 16. Smith started the breakout with a trey, followed by a "3" from Burse. Devante Jenkins and Burse had two-point buckets and Dante Turnipseed capped the 13-0 streak with a trey.
Burse collected 27 points and 16 rebounds. Scofield had 19 points, seven rebounds; Smith 16 points, nine assists and Turnipseed 15. The four of them also each had 3 steals.
The Bulldogs (4-2 overall, 2-0 AAC) will play on Friday and Saturday at the Embry-Riddle University Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla, before returning home to face AAC foe Milligan College on Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
