The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Talladega College on Tuesday night to play their final game before the Holiday break. A NAIA Division I school, Talladega is nationally ranked and was 9-0 going into the competition.
Talladega went on a 15-6 run to open the game and padded that lead to 21-10 after seven minutes. Armeka Booker's layup cut the margin to 10, 28-18, but the Lady Bulldogs would trail, 51-35, at the half with the Lady Tornadoes hitting five of 10 3-point attempts.
Talladega would lead 73-49 with 12:32 to play before the Lady Bulldogs made a comeback. Led by Booker, Shira Buley and Cody Houck, TWC went on a 15-2 run that included seven points by Buley, four from Booker and a 3-pointer by Houck. TWC would eventually climb within eight, 79-71, on a three-point by play from Booker at the 1:38 mark, but would get no closer.
TWC hit just 26 of 69 field goal attempts, while Talladega converted at a 46 percent (34 of 74) rate.
Booker paced the TWC scoring with 26 points and collected a game-high 12 rebounds. Buley netted 15 points and Houck nine with six rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs play at St. Andrews on January 2nd at 12:00 pm.
