The Lady Bulldogs faced Milligan College on Saturday hoping to remain in their top spot in the AAC Standings. Even though the Lady Buffaloes gave them a run for their money, they were able to pull out a last minute win, 64-63.
The teams traded points through the first 15 minutes with the score tied at 23 at the 4:29 mark. The Lady Bulldogs managed just four points from there and trailed, 34-27, going into the intermission.
The Lady Buffaloes continued to pull away as the second half began, padding the lead to 13, 45-32, with 15:08 to play. Sarah McKinnon started a comeback with a three-point play. Cody Houck added four points, Bailey Lynees two and Armeka Booker a bucket to pull the Lady Bulldogs within two, 45-43. Booker scored six straight as TWC slipped in front, 49-47. Lyness had a 3-pointer and Booker at three-point play to keep the Lady 'Dogs on top, 55-52. Milligan rebounded with an 11-2 run to lead, 63-57, with 1:34 to play. Booker scored inside and Houck buried a "3" following a Milligan turnover to bring Wesleyan within one, 63-62. The Lady Buffaloes missed and Wesleyan's Courtney Gobble rebounded. TWC worked the clock down to 13 seconds before calling a timeout. Coming out of the break, Shira Buley's driving layup on the in-bound's play put TWC in front with eight ticks left on the clock and Milligan failed on a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Booker paced the TWC offense with 26 points and collected 15 rebounds. Houck netted 15 points; Buley eight points, four assists, three steals and McKinnon six points, five rebounds.
