The Bulldogs suffered their 4th AAC loss on Saturday to Milligan College, 83-95, causing them to fall back down in the conference standings.
A pair of 3-pointers from Andrew Scofield and one from Shannon Smith helped TWC to an early 14-8 lead. The Buffaloes bounced back to go in front, 26-17, and Wesleyan's leading scorer and rebounder, Tyler Burse, went to the bench with three fouls. Smith's three points and a triple from Scofield sliced the deficit to three, 26-23. The Buffaloes put up the game's next eight points and sprinted away to a 50-37 advantage at the intermission.
Burse's return following the break did little to slow down the Milligan offense as the margin widened to 24 points in the first five minutes. Behind Dante Turnipseed and Devante Jenkins, Wesleyan made one run, crawling within 10 with 5:26 to play and finally nine on a 3-pointer by Scofield with 1:52 remaining before the comeback halted.
Andrew Scofield led TWC with 21 points. Shannon Smith recorded 19 points, seven assists, three steals; Dante Turnipseed 16 points, three steals; Devante Jenkins 13 points, nine rebounds and Burse eight points, 11 rebounds.
