NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Wesleyan's Armeka Booker garnered Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association on Tuesday, posting a pair of double-doubles in two TWC victories.


The Oak Ridge, Tenn., native recorded 25 points and 15 rebounds against Truett-McConnell, hitting 10-of-15 shots and all five free throw attempts for the Bulldogs in a 69-40 victory. The junior forward registered 15 points and 13 boards along with two assists and four blocks in a 67-62 win versus Union College.


TWC sits atop of the Appalachian Athletic Conference with a 16-3 overall mark, 13-2 in the AAC. Booker is averaging 19.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Tennessee Wesleyan hosts Tennessee Temple, Talladega College and St. Andrews University this week.
