NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the second straight week, Tennessee Wesleyan's Armeka Booker garnered Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association, averaging 19.0 points and 12.3 rebounds with a pair of double-doubles in three victories for the Bulldogs.
The Oak Ridge, Tenn., native registered 17 points and nine rebounds in just 23 minutes of action versus Tennessee Temple, hitting 7-of-12 shots in a 66-42 win. Against 22nd-ranked Talladega College, the 6-foot-1 forward tied her season-high with 18 boards and netted 17 points in a 72-60 triumph. Booker posted 23 points and 10 caroms in a 73-48 victory over St. Andrews University, her 10th 20-point game of the season.
She is averaging 19.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game and ranks 14th nationally in points per game and 15th in rebounds per contest. The Bulldogs sit atop the Appalachian Athletic Conference with a 19-3 overall mark, 14-2 in league action. TWC plays at Columbia [SC] College on Wednesday and hosts Bryan College on Saturday in the final regular season home game of the year.
