The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Point University for the final regular season game. TWC came away with their 17th straight win; 75-71.
Cody Houck gave Wesleyan the lead at 13-12, followed by a 3-point basket from Bailey Lyness and bucket from Armeka Booker. The Lady Bulldogs had stretched the lead to 10, 35-25, at the break.
Wesleyan was up by 17 six minutes into the second half and still led by 13, 69-56, with 2:07 to play. Point, however closed with a rush and missed a chance to tie the score at the free throw line with nine seconds remaining. Booker and Shira Buley then hit three of four free throws to seal the win.
Booker paced the offense with 25 points, while collecting nine rebounds and blocking two shots. Houck had 15 points, nine rebounds and Buley 14 points, eight assists and three steals.
The Lady Bulldogs will play at 12:00 pm on Thursday in Kingsport at the AAC Tournament. They wlll play the winner of Point and Truett McConnell.
