On Sunday, the Bulldogs played Point Park University and got a 13-2 win.
Senior pitcher Brent Adheen shut out Point Park for seven innings. The Pioneers scored twice off reliever Brandon Landrie in the 8th and Taylor Saucedo pitched a scoreless 9th. A bases-loaded walk; Heifnar's double and a single by Phillips and hit-batsman with the bases loaded led to single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings. The Bulldogs finally broke the game open with a four-run 7th, featuring hits from Malloy, Josh McCray, Phillips and McCain. Wesleyan added six more runs in the 8th, highlighted by Kiene's grandslam home run.
Adheen got the win, surrendering just four hits, while striking out eight and walking two.
Wesleyan had 15 hits, three from Phillips. McCain had two hits; Boddicker two hits, two runs scored; Malloy two hits; Dalton one hit, two runs scored, two RBIs and Kiene one hit, five RBIs.
The Bulldogs will play Lindsey Wilson on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at home.
