BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - After starting the softball season with a 1-11 record, Tennessee Wesleyan College won for the eighth time in 10 games, sweeping Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) foe Union College on Tuesday, 5-1 and 11-1.
In game one, Brittany Kilduff scattered nine hits over seven innings, while striking out five and walking one. Brooke Ward had two hits. Stacie Nelson, Brandi Lasley, Skye Jackson, Calli Cross and Courtney Gobble added one hit each.
In the nightcap, Faith Forgey allowed just three hits, struck out one and walked one. Cross led Wesleyan's 13-hit attack with three hits, three runs scored and a RBI. Ward drove in four runs with a pair of doubles and Lindsey Arndts, Lasley and Stephanie Bridges two hits each.
Wesleyan (9-13 overall, 5-1 AAC) will play at Virginia Intermont on Thursday, starting at 4 p.m., and host Milligan College on Friday, starting at 2.
