Bulldogs stay alive in AAC Tournament on Wednesday, winning over St. Andrews, 5-3 and then defeating Bryan, 11-7 in the nightcap.
Tennessee Wesleyan scored four in the bottom of the first to take an early lead over the Knights. Brad Carpenter was 2 for 2 with 3 RBIs for the Bulldogs. Josh Clemen got the win pitching 8 2/3 innings giving up 3 runs on 12 hits while striking out 3. Tyler Wilson finished the game to get the save.
The final game of the day saw Tennessee Wesleyan explode for seven runs in the first inning en route to the 11-7 win over Bryan. Tim Kiene and David Donald each drove in three RBIs. Brent Adheen pitched 7 innings giving up seven runs on nine hits and getting the win. Adheen walked six and struck out 5. Brandon Landrie pitched the eighth inning and struck out one, while Tyler Wilson closed out the game and struck out 2.
The loss was Bryan's first of the tournament, meaning the two teams will square off once more on Thursday at 2 p.m. for the right to play for the championship.
