ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Coming off the best season in program history, Union is projected to repeat as the Appalachian Athletic Conference men's basektball champion, according to the 2014-15 AAC Coaches' Poll released on Wednesday.
Receiving nine of the possible 10 first-place votes, Union collected 99 total voting points. Tennessee Wesleyan received the remaining first-place vote and is second in the poll with 75 points. The Bulldogs finished the 2013-2014 season at 16-13 overall and 12-6 in the AAC.
Rounding out the top five are Bluefield (72 points), Reinhardt (69 points) and Bryan (65 points). Milligan (63 points) begins the second five with Montreat (33 points), St. Andrews (28 points), Point (26 points), and Truett-McConnell (20 points) making up the rest of the field.
The AAC Tournament is set for February 24-28, 2015, at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. This marks the third year in a row the tournament will be held at this venue.
