The No. 20 ranked Bulldogs defeated King College in the first two games of a three game series, 11-9 and 11-1. Game three of the series with King will be Sunday at Jack Bowling Field with the first pitch at 2:00.
In game one the Bulldog offense scored 11 runs on 10 hits with one error. King scored first on a first inning homerun. In the second the Tornados scored two more runs on a two run homer to lead 3-0. The Bulldogs came to the plate in the bottom of the second and scored on back-to-back homeruns by Matt Stanley and Drew Earl. In the third King hit a two-run homer and their lead was 5-2. Going into the bottom of the fourth TWC exploded and scored seven runs on six hits to take the lead 9-5. Tyler Moyneur reached base on an error and Stanley doubled. With Moyneur at 3rd and Stanley at 2nd Gary Tucker doubled off the center field wall to score Moyneur. The Bulldogs pulled within one run when Eddie Van Es hit a triple off the right field fence and the lead changed in favor of the Bulldogs 7-5. A back-to-back triple by Brandon Munsey scored Van Es. King scored three runs in the fifth closing the game with a TWC lead 9-8 and King tied the game in the top of the sixth with a homerun. The Bulldogs scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and held the lead to win 11-9.
Van Es was 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, Moyneur was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Earl was 1-for-3 with a homerun and one RBI, Tucker was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI, Stanley was 2-for-4 with a homerun and a double and two RBIs, Brandon Daggett was 1-for-3 and Brandon Munsey was 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI.
Jon Swartout was the starting pitcher going 4 1/3 innings giving up seven hits, eight runs, two walks while striking out eight. Gabe Rios came to the mound in relief of Swartout for the win allowing two hits, one run while striking out two. Jason Ferguson recorded the save going one inning allowing no hits, no runs, no walks and striking out two.

Game two was shortened to five innings under the 10-run rule when the Bulldogs out-scored King 11-1. Justin Crowell pitched a complete five inning game allowing four hits, one run, one walk while striking out six. Alan Wimmer led the Bulldog offense 4-for-2 with a homerun and four RBIs. Eddie Van Es was 1-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and scored three runs. Brad Pippa and Gary Tucker were 1-for-3 at the plate. Tyler Moyneur was 2-for-2 with a homerun and two RBIs. Brandon Munsey was 2-for-2 with a homerun and a double, one RBI and scored two runs. Trailing 7-1, King loaded the bases with nobody out in the fifth, but Crowell got two short flyballs and a strikeout to keep King off the scoreboard.
