Jon Swartout, AAC Pitcher of the Year, pitched a complete game for the Bulldogs allowing two hits, two walks while striking out six.  Swartout faced 31 batters throwing 102 pitches leading the Bulldogs in a win over Milligan 4-0.  The two top seeded teams (TWC and Union) remain undefeated in the tournament.  The Bulldogs are 24-3 and 41-13 overall as they return to the diamond at 7:00 p.m. in a rematch with Milligan.  Milligan defeated Montreat in the first game today.
The Bulldogs put two runs on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning when lead off batter Brandon Munsey drew a walk. Batting in the two hole Matt Stanley was hit by a pitch. Tanner Quirk, pinch running for Stanley, stole second when Munsey stole to third. Eddie Van Es singled up the middle on a 3-1 count scoring Munsey and Quirk. Van Es was caught stealing for the third out of the inning with a Bulldog lead of 2-0. The Bulldogs scored again in the fifth inning when Drew Earl homered with one out to right on a 2-2 count. The Bulldogs added one more run when Brandon Daggett leading off in the eighth singled to left-center. Daggett advanced to second when Munsey hit a sacrifice bunt. With Stanley at the plate with 2-0 count Daggett advanced to third when the Milligan pitcher was called for a balk. Stanley then doubled to left-center. The inning ended with the Bulldogs adding one more run on two hits leaving two on base.
The Bulldog's played outstanding defense with no errors recorded. Stanley was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI, Alan Wimmer was 2-for-4, Van Es was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Gary Tucker was 1-for-4, Earl was 1-for-4 with a homerun, Daggett was 1-for-3.
