The #3 seed Lady Bulldogs started the 2015 AAC Tournament with a win over #6 seed Truett-McConnell on Tuesday afternoon at Domtar Park in Kingsport, TN. TWC plated eight runs over six innings, with five runs in the bottom of the sixth, that ended with an 8-0 run-rule win.
TWC got the scoring started in the third on an RBI single by Stephanie Bridges that plated Calli Cross to give the Lady Dogs a 1-0 lead. TWC would score two more in the fifth when Amy Lokker drove a 2-2 pitch over the left field fence to put the team up 3-0. In the bottom of the 6th, TWC would plate 5 more runs with a triple from Cross, single from Lokker, and a double from Mackenzie Hopkins. Brittany Kilduff picked up the win with 6 strike outs, 1 walk, and allowing only 3 hits in pitching the six inning shut-out.
The tournament had two upsets on the day as #1 seed Reinhardt was defeated by #8 seed Columbia, and #4 seed Union lost to #5 seed St. Andrews. With four games to open up the day, 3 games ended in shutouts and the winning teams outscored their opponents by a score of 33-1 with only one game going the entire 7 innings.
TWC will be back in action on Wednesday at 5 pm against #2 seed Bryan College. Every game will be broadcast live online, and can be watched by going to the AAC Stretch Internet portal. There is a cost to view the games. For each individual game, the fee is $7.99, but you can watch the entire tournament for $19.99.

Play begins at 11 a.m. with an elimination game between No. 4 seed Union and top-seeded Reinhardt on Wednesday.
