KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Tennessee Wesleyan is the No. 1 seed for the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round - Kingsport Bracket, the national office announced Friday.
Tennessee Wesleyan won both the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships to earn a berth to the opening round and enter the tournament with a 43-10 overall record. The Bulldogs are also ranked No. 3 in the nation.
The Bulldogs are one of 4 teams from the nation who have competed in all 7 NAIA opening round tournaments (Oklahoma City, Embry Riddle University (Fl), LSU Shrevport). The Bulldogs have won three of the first six opening round tournaments they have participated to advance to Lewiston, Idaho. TWC has a 16-8 record overall in opening round play winning the tournament in 2010 at Columbus, Ga, 2011 at Paducah, KY, and 2012 at Kingsport, TN.

No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (38-17 overall)
No. 3 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (35-14 overall)
No. 4 seed LSU Alexandria (La.) (39-14 overall)
Lindsey Wilson qualified by winning the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Freed-Hardemen enters as an at-large team from the American Midwest Conference and are ranked No. 23 in the NAIA. LSU Alexandria is also an at-large out of the Red River Conference. Judson won the Chicagoland Collegia Athletic Conference Tournament to advance to the opening round.
