Tennessee Wesleyan had two student-athletes selected in the 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft, which wrapped up Wednesday evening. Logan Longwith, a right handed pitcher from Cleveland, Tennessee was selected in the 20th round by the Detroit Tigers, while Tayler Saucedo, a left handed pitcher from Maple Valley, WA, was chosen in the 21st round by the Toronto Blue Jays.
As a closer for the Bulldogs, Logan Longwith was 1-1 with 10 saves for the 2015 season. In 30.1 innings, he faced 122 batters with 21 strikeouts and six walks.
Saucedo was 5-2 for the season, pitching 59.2 innings and striking out 59 batters.
This is the sixth year in a row for the Bulldogs to have at least one player selected in the draft and 29 total players drafted after playing at Tennessee Wesleyan.
