Announced on Friday by the NAIA the Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed in Field No 4 of the 2009 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round. The host site for Field No. 4 is Lee University in Cleveland, TN. The Bulldogs are 43-13 overall and will battle four other schools for a berth to the 2009 Avista NAIA World Series, which will be in Lewiston, Idaho. Host Lee University is the No. 2 seed, Spring Arbor (MI) is seeded No. 3, Belhaven No. 4 and the No. 5 seed is Indiana Tech.
The tournament will begin on Tuesday. Tennessee Wesleyan will play on Tuesday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. They will play the winner of the Belhaven and Indiana Tech game which will be played at 12:00. The double elimination tournament will continue on Wednesday with the championship game set for Thursday.
