The Bulldogs traveled to Truett McConnell on Saturday to face the Bears and came away with a 92-76 win.
Trey Suttles drained a pair of 3-pointers among eight points; Jordan Hall added two more treys; Tre Tiller converted a three-point play and Leland Robinson and Wes Richey added buckets as Wesleyan led, 21-7, after six minutes of play. The Bears sliced the gap to six, 28-22, before a trey from Richey and two more from Hall as TWC stretched the margin back to 16, 48-32, at the half.
Behind a flurry of fouls against Tennessee Wesleyan, Truett needed just six minutes to climb within, four, 58-54. A 3-pointer from Justin Simmons and 2-point baskets from Devante Jenkins, Robinson and Suttles fueled a 9-2 push and the Bulldogs ran away from there. Suttles and Hall each hit four 3-pointers, tallying 20 and 18 points, respectively. Jenkins netted 19 points with a team-high 10 rebounds and Robinson had 12 points.
The Bulldogs forced 30 turnovers and out-rebounded the Bears, 37-34. Truett converted 18-of-26 free throws, while Wesleyan was 9-of-12 at the free throw liine.
