The Lady Bulldogs Women's Soccer program is happy to announce the final signings for the 2009-2010 season.  Head coach Naomi Clarke welcomes an additional nine players to an already solid program this coming fall.

Deanna Dawson, hailing from Chicago, IL is a sophomore transfer from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside.  Deanna who signed a letter of intent for TWC in May is a defender who redshirted her freshman year at UW-P.  "Deanna is athletic and agile with great height and strength. She is smart as a defensive player and moves the ball well, I look forward to her staking out her place on our team." says Coach Clarke.  Prior to college, Deanna played at Resurrection HS where she a 4 year starter on the Varsity team.  She was named All-Conference her junior and senior years and All-Sectional & MVP her senior year. Deanna is interested in studying mathematics while at TWC and would like to pursue a career in law.

At the attacking end of the field Clarke has recruited Britten Fandrich from Columbia, TN. Britten is a forward that attended Columbia Academy. She was named All-District, All-Region, and was an All-State nominated player as a freshman. Her sophomore year was All-District, junior year was All-District and District MVP, and her senior year was again named All-District, All-Region, and District MVP. She has been an honor roll student all 4 years. Britten has most recently played competitive soccer at TNFC, a Franklin, TN based club that plays state Division 1 soccer; she was a starting forward and backup goalkeeper for TNFC G'91 White team. Britten plans to go into nursing while at Tennessee Wesleyan College. "Britten is quick and strong on the ball, she works to receive it and shields it well as a forward. She has pace that we need up top and I hope to see her make a difference on our team in front of goal."

 Alex Heimerman also joins the Lady Bulldog soccer team as an academic walk-on. She is interested in studying accounting at TWC and comes from Lenoir City where she attended and played high school soccer. She was voted best offensive player as a freshman and was awarded for most goals scored her junior year. She was unable to play her senior year. "Alex has been away from the game for a year but is eager to get back into it. She will add enthusiasm and a great work ethic and I look forward to her pushing herself to fight for a starting spot on this team."

Jenna Klages is welcomed to the TWC women's soccer team as a feisty defender from Franklin, TN. Jenna attended and played at Centennial HS where she was a Varsity Lettering player that started on defense as a sophomore and junior. She has also played competitive soccer for TNFC G'91 White since 2007. "Jenna is an incredibly passionate player. She is determined to win, she plays physically and fairly, she works hard and does not back down from a challenge. I look forward to her strength on defense in the fall." Jenna is interested in studying in the health sciences or nursing fields.

Kayla Russell hailing from Philadelphia, TN joins the TWC women's soccer program this fall also. She played her high school soccer at Loudon. Kayla is a midfielder that has the ability to be able to move around the pitch. "She has a sounds set of skills and can read play well, I like her willingness to get stuck in and work hard on and off the ball." says Coach Clarke.

Cassie Romeo, from Las Vegas, NV will be joining us this fall. She comes as a transfer student via Western Nevada Community College where she played and started one season of college soccer. Cassie intends to study nursing or biology at Tennessee Wesleyan College. She is a central defender and/or central midfielder that played varsity soccer all 4 years of high school and was named to 2nd team honors all 4 years for her district. She also played select soccer for a Las Vegas based club where she was team captain. "Cassie brings collegiate experience and understanding to our team, she brings leadership capabilities and a mature attitude and outlook on her game. She is aggressive and not afraid to put a good tackle on someone, I look forward to her being in shape and having a big impact in the way we play through the middle of the field."

Hollie Reagan joins the TWC team as an academic walk-on player. She attends TWC now and is entering into her sophomore year. Although being out of the game a year, Hollie is determined to do the work necessary in order to play and make a difference in the 09 season. "She is a confident determined girl that is excited to have an opportunity to play college soccer and I look forward to having her as a part of our team."

An international player from New Zealand has also signed for the Lady Bulldogs, Kelly Stanton coming from Whakatane. She is an athletic and excellent skilled midfielder that will look to make an immediate impact on the soccer team. She attended Trident HS where she not only played, earned school colors, and was team captain in soccer, but also field hockey, rugby, and cricket. She has played both soccer and rugby at the Women's Regional level in NZ also, and was named Team MVP at the NZ Secondary School National Tournament in 2008. She has represented Federation 3 in soccer in NZ since she was U14 age. Kelly has earned various Academic Merit awards throughout her high school career and has been actively involved in Sports Ambassador Programs and Peer Support Programs gaining leadership roles in both areas. "Kelly brings quality to our program with her ball handling and control, her vision on the field, and her ability to read play and move on and off the ball. I am excited to have another New Zealand player on our team, and for her to have the opportunity to further her education in the USA and play soccer for us here at Tennessee Wesleyan College."

Lastly, Rosa Timoshchuk is joining the Lady Bulldogs as a transfer student from Chattanooga State. She will be entering her junior year at TWC and is interested in studying in the business administration field. Rosa attended Central HS in Harrison, TN where she started forward all 4 years. As a freshman she received the most improved award, as a sophomore the hustle award, as a junior the most outstanding player award, and as a senior the offensive award along with Co-MVP. She has most recently played U19 club soccer in Chattanooga. "Rosa is a very smart player that I saw play central midfield, she has the ability to make herself available for passes from players around her, receive and turn with the ball, and make good decisions on passes up the field. She is athletic and quick, and is just hungry to play college soccer now. I look forward to seeing her in preseason and think she will fight for a starting spot on our team."

"With the talent we retained after last year, the girls already signed, and these new players, we have a solid squad of players that are going to be competing for 11 starting spots. I am super excited for preseason and to push this team to the next level" says Coach Clarke, "I am really looking forward to the challenges we have in our conference, we want to play the best soccer we have played in years and we want to let teams in our conference see we mean business. I feel confident that the incoming class and the returning class can propel us forward to reach our goals in the 2009 season. I look forward to working with all the girls and not only helping them grow and improve on the soccer field but also in the classroom. We have a great set of students that represent the college and community exceptionally well, and I am lucky to be able to coach them."
