Bulldogs played Bluefield College in the semifinal round of the AAC Tournament. To get to Friday's game, Tennessee Wesleyan defeated Truett McConnell and Bluefield had a 68-58 win over Milligan.
The Bulldogs went on an 8-4 run to open the game, but Bluefield came back to take over the lead at 9-8. Both teams traded baskets before Bluefield took their largest lead of the half at 32-25. Tennessee Wesleyan chipped away to get within three, but ended up trailing by 5; 36-31 at the half.
The Bulldogs pulled even at 38 and then again at 47. Tennessee Wesleyan took the lead at 50 after a three point play by Trey Suttles. Bluefield went on a 13-2 run to lead 60-52 with 4:50 remaining. The Bulldogs pulled within two at 63-61 with 1:26 left, but could not get any closer falling 72-66.
The Bulldogs are out of the AAC Tournament but are not done with the 2015-2016 season. Tennessee Wesleyan will get ready for the NAIA National Tournament in Lookout Point, MO. The Brackets and Pairings will be released on March 2nd.
