Former Bulldog, Jim Henderson returns to the major league field. The New York Mets announced the addition of Jim Henderson to the opening day roster on April 1st. Henderson previously pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers but has been out since May 2014 when he underwent his second shoulder surgery in August of that year and was only in the minors last year.
Henderson made his first appearance on the mound for the Mets on Tuesday in the 2-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Henderson tossed a perfect seventh inning, striking out two. Henderson's fastball averaged 96.7 mph.
The Mets will next play Philadelphia on Friday April 8th at 1:10 pm.
