Before kickoff of Saturday's game, the Wesleyan senior class was recognized for all of the hard work and dedication they have given to this school and soccer program. The 2016/2017 senior class is; Jordan Jacobs, Dave Baisden, OT Bah, Fernando Carcamo, Kevin Witton, Kyle Ford, Daniel O' Hare, Sean Livingston and Jack Parrett.
The Bulldogs had a shortened warm up and altered pregame and unfortunately, right before they fully got into the flow of the game, Bluefield scored in the 7th minute to go up 1-0.
Unhappy with the start, but with plenty of time left in the game, the Bulldogs slowly started the change the momentum in their favor. At halftime the game was still 1-0 but the Dogs had rallied off over 10 shots and seemed destined to score.
The seniors gathered the team in at half time and insisted that they were going to get the game back. This promise was held true when senior, Kevin Witton, redirected a cross that found Senior, Fernando Carcamo, who was crashing the middle of the goal and smashed in a header from 5 yards out. The Bulldogs kept the pressure on but were unable to find the net again. The game ended 1-1 in regulation and was headed for extra time.
Wesleyan came out in over time playing to win but Bluefield kept numbers behind the ball and after 110 minutes the game ended in a tie.
The Bulldogs will have their last home match of the regular season on Tuesday October 18th when they take on Milligan College @ 3:30 PM
