The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2016 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship bracket on Monday afternoon, and the Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs will travel to the University of Northwestern Ohio for the Opening Round.
UNOH (18-2-1) claimed the No. 7 seed and will play the Bulldogs (13-5-2) on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the St. Rita's Sports Complex. The match is scheduled for an 11 AM kickoff.
TWU claimed an automatic bid after winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament defeating Bryan 2-0 in the finals. As the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Champion, the Racers earned an automatic bid to the 2016 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round and are the only representative from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
The 2016 Opening Round winners and national championship final site host Mobile (Ala.) will advance to the final site in Orange Beach, Ala. Action at the Orange Beach Sportsplex runs Nov. 28 – Dec. 3.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
